Konfigurera Azure CNI nätverk i Azure Kubernetes Service

Pods receive an IP address from a logically different address space to the Azure virtual network subnet of the nodes. The Control plane creates and manages the Virtual Network in the case of Kubenet. The Control Plane assigns IP Address to the Pods that do not fall in the IP Range of the Cluster Virtual Network. This aspect makes the Pods as not accessible from outside the Cluster. However, using Azure CNI, you can directly access the Pod. From what I get out of the documentation I conclude the following: Kube-proxy is responsible for communicating with the master node and routing. CNI provides connectivity by assigning IP addresses to pods and services, and reachability through its routing deamon.

This is used in the online documentation, for instance in the quickstart. Here pods’ IPs are cluster-IPs. That is they do not belong to the Azure Virtual Network but to Kubernetes Virtual Network. They are therefore resolvable only from within the cluster. Azure Kubernetes Service Engine (AKS Engine) is an open-source project that generates Azure Resource Manager templates you can use for deploying Kubernetes clusters on Azure.
